Happy Pi Day friends, nerds, jocks, everyone!!!
OMG what a beautiful day to celebrate Pi day! It's going to be a high of 72 and mostly sunny! Pi wouldn't want it any other way, I'm sure!
What's Pi day you ask? Just ask your one nerdy friend that everyone is entitled to have!
Haha just kidding.
Pi, Greek letter (), is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi Day is celebrated by math enthusiasts around the world on March 14th... TODAY!
Pi = 3.1415926535 blah blah blah…..........
In case you were wondering, because Pi is 3.14 (aka 3/14), March 14th, makes it the national day of celebration!
With the use of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal. That sh*t cray!
Pi is an irrational and transcendental number meaning it will continue infinitely without repeating. MIND BLOWING! The symbol for pi was first used in 1706 by William Jones, but was popular after it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler in 1737. I bet Jones hates Euler.... I do need to thank you Wikipedia, however, for refreshing what I have forgotten from 9th grade math class.
And P.S. someone needs to make Wikipedia a reliable source.
It's always up-to-date whether it's right or wrong!
Anyways, thanks to the math
Here are some cool, fun, creative and rational ways (man I am full of them today) to celebrate Pi Day!
1. Obviously, bake a Pi pie.
Too bad the slices aren't infinite...
Suggestion: make your pies square, instead of round, since “pie are squared” (Get it?) is the surface area bounded by a circle. Ha.. Ha.. Ha...
2. Get a cool Pi tattoo...
Too bad our arms aren't infinite... That would be weird though.
3. Dress up like a PIrate!!
ARRR I LIKE YER PIE!
4. Plan a pi recitation contest....
Make sure your competition is fair first...
5. Have a Pi Party where everyone has to dress like a piece of pie!!
Except don't invite this lady... she looks like a mean piece of pie...
6. Decorate your CFO's office with a pinata and some cookies!! Clearly they like numbers and most likely have this day of celebration written down on their calendar...
They appreciate your appreciation.
7. Last but certainly not least... SING THE PI SONG?!? Don't believe me that there is one?
CHECK IT OUT!!
It's pretty catchy...
So Jo(W)anna know what? As you can see, there are a ton of fun and creative ways to celebrate Pi. Show your appreciation for Pi by celebrating it's existence!! I would eat pie in honor or Pi but I gave up sweets for Lent... (still slapping myself for that), but you can bet your bottom that I will definitely be humming the Pi Song for the rest of the day!
So Happy Pi Day friends and enjoy the weather!
I'm having flashbacks to Mrs. Faul's Advanced Algebra class. NO MORE MATH.
